Brake Repairs
Why does my steering wheel shake when braking at high speed?
Does your steering wheel start to shake when brakes are applied? Is it more noticeable when braking on the highway at 100km/h?
Brake pedal pulsation may also occur. In most cases this issue is caused by warped or unevenly-worn brake rotors.
Brake rotors wear down just like brake pads, although at a much slower rate. The rotor surface can become warped and uneven as they wear due to irregularities in rotor or brake pad material, sticky brake calipers and from overheating due to excessive or continuous braking.
Brake rotor condition should be inspected and replaced if necessary during brake pad replacement or if shaking of the steering wheel and pedal pulsation are present.
